When we talk about abdominal strengthening , we often think of Crunches and ventral sheathing .
For a functional CORE , it's essential to strengthen the anterior chain. The inverted plank is a perfect example that allows for variety. It's a seemingly simple, yet highly effective exercise that I regularly use in my personal training sessions in Saint-Tropez .
It works the deep core muscles isometrically, while engaging the glutes and back muscles to open the torso and stabilize posture . Working this type of sheathing in opening allows good muscular balance and prevents back pain . The body becomes stronger, straighter, more aligned . This is an exercise that can be perfectly complemented by a sheathing this time, posterior and dorsal in the Superman position , with pressure on the stomach and at the level of the hips, the feet, the legs and the upper body above the ground. Our entire back and glutes are contracting to raise our body off the ground, from our stomach. I will come back to this in a future article.
I will conclude with the following sentence: it is often in unusual positions for the body that we progress the most, very good exemple, the reverse plank.
